Financial Diversification Workshop 14 October 2009
Free to social enterprises in Greater Manchester

Following the extensive consultation that Social
Enterprise North West carried out towards the end of last year, Together
Works, in association with SELNET (Social Enterprise Lancashire
Network), is providing free workshops for Social Enterprises in Greater
Manchester designed to:

•Increase turnover through trading and funding
•Secure public sector contracts
•Collaborate on bids / opportunities

Funding is being provided by Capacity Builders. The training will be
delivered by Accordant Enterprise Partnership and certificates of
attendance will be available for participants.

This interactive workshop is designed to help you to prepare for
increasingly competitive markets, new commissioning and procurement
circumstances and to generate income from commercial activity.

At the end of the workshop participants will have gained understanding in:

•Enhanced business acumen
•The potential for alternative revenue sources and how to access them
•Planning for the future
•Developing operational plans and milestones from strategic objectives
•Aligning your offer, promotion and gaining increased levels of paid for
services
•Opportunities in the Public and Private sectors – providing a solution
•How bids are assessed
•What will make commissioners take note of your organisation – your benefits
•What help and assistance is available

The workshops are aimed at delegates with a broad experience of
accessing diverse income streams – from no experience to those who have
attempted and/or succeeded in finding new/alternative sources of funds.

The programme looks at what could be out there, how the
commissioning/procurement environment is changing and what an enterprise
must do to align its offer to the needs of the “buyers” (whether
contracts, grants or other sources of funds).

The workshops are highly interactive and practical and will draw on the
experiences of delegates (for the benefit of all those in attendance) as
well as presenting information collected from recent research into
Financial Diversity in the North West.

Additionally, tools and methods are offered to enable an enterprise to
maximise its efforts in diversifying income and ensuring the
organisation is “fit to tender” and “fit to deliver” through improved
marketing, as well as effective planning, systems and procedures.

The workshop is free of charge with lunch included and there are 15
places available. It will take place on 14 October at MERCi,22a Beswick
St, Manchester, M4 7HR between 9.30 and 4pm . If you would like to apply
for a place on this workshop please contact Andy Wynne, Togetherworks
Co-ordinator, on 0161 273 3237 or via www.togetherworks.org.uk.
