LEAD business development programme now open to social enterprises
The LEAD programme is a leadership and business development programme suitable for those in management positions in social enterprises with 20 staff or under. Originally designed and run by Lancaster University Business School, LEAD was the first management development programme designed specifically for the owners or managers of small enterprises. LEAD at Lancaster University has already helped over 150 businesses across the North West - 90% of past delegates reported an average yearly turnover increase of £200,000 and, crucially, that their turnover is more profitable. LEAD also supported a number of social enterprise managers and social entrepreneurs who similarly reported improvements to their organisations' sustainability through improved leadership skills.
LEAD has now been rolled out with support and part-funding by the North West Development Agency. Social enterprises are eligible for reduced fees, for a ten month programme, with two to three contact days a month, as well as one-to-one coaching, business exchanges and shadowing, masterclasses and ongoing support from an unrivalled network of like-minded peers.
There is only a month left to register for the next LEAD programme, beginning this autumn . A free taster session to give you a flavour of LEAD isbeing run on the 3rd and 10th of September, 11am to 1pm @ The Portal Business Centre, Warrington.
For more information contact Laurie Smith laurie@kti.co.uk . If you want to talk through the issues specific to social enterprises on LEAD you are welcome to contact Jez Hall at jez.hall@sharedfuturecic.org.uk.
